JASON CHOPP June 16, 1966 - April 4, 2001 It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Jason, on April 4, 2001. Jason will be terribly missed and lovingly remembered by his parents, Reg Chopp (Marlene), Naomi Chopp (Al) sister Pam (Warren) niece Janelle; girlfriend Sharon; and countless friends in Winnipeg and Vancouver. He also leaves behind his grandmother Betty Siemers; two aunts, Angie (Chris) and Lenore; many cousins, as well as Ted and Matty, his two special feline friends. Jason was born and raised in Winnipeg, but had been living in Vancouver, BC for the past number of years, returning to Winnipeg on many occasions to visit his family and friends. He graduated from Tec Voc High School where he was an exceptional basketball player for the Tec Voc Hornets and went on to play for the University of Winnipeg Wesmen team. Jason was so looking forward to his high school reunion in May where he would see many old faces as well as those who remained his lifelong friends. Jason was such a wonderful and loving human being who touched so many lives with his terrific sense of humour, generosity and outgoing personality. He had a way to always make people laugh and was a good listener who gave advice and words of wisdom when needed most. He was great with children and absolutely adored his niece and very much wanted a child of his own one day. To know Jason was to love him and this is evident from the enormous assistance, support and good wishes of his many friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, where Jason will be buried next to his grandfather, Al Siemers. You have finally found true peace, precious angel, and, rest assured your life did matter to so many people.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I have recently been chatting with old friends about our memories of Jason. We all miss him so much. He would walk into a room and light it up with that amazing smile and energy. He was the sweetest, most handsome, loving friend to all of us. He will never be forgotten! We just reminisced over a night where he and the "Slobinski Brothers" showed up at the Palomino Club on my birthday, about 22 years ago. He helped us celebrate by dancing up a storm and we love him for bringing us so much joy. Peace be with you dear friend, we love and miss you terribly xoxoxoxo P.S. Keep my Dad company on the days you are bored up there, he just left us two weeks ago and I know he would LOVE to meet you <3 - Posted by: Denise Jackson (nee Schau) (old friend) on: Jun 26, 2014
