JOHN (JACK) HENRY COOKE Suddenly on April 6, 2001 Jack passed away at home. He is survived by his wife Alva; his daughter and son-in-law Jacqui and Frank McFarlane of Waterloo, ON; his granddaughter Melody and husband David Schleicher of Kitchener, ON; his grandson Todd and wife Jennifer of Kitchener; his great-grandsons, Erich, Jack and Samuel and his great-granddaughter Krista; his sisters, Ena Conkey and Doris Childs and brother-in-law Arthur Childs; and also many nieces and nephews. A private family viewing and graveside service has already been held, with Rev. Ronald Long officiating. Jack was born in England and arrived in Winnipeg at the age of 13. He started employment with the CPR as a messenger and retired at age 60 from the Telecommunications Department as an automatic operator. Our family wishes to thank most sincerely Dr. Cam Louden, 911, the Fire Fighters Emergency Team, and his special friends (they know who they are) who have given him so much pleasure in his retirement years. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to the Chaplaincy Trust Account, Victoria Hospital, care of Rev. R. Long, 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8 or a charity of your choice.
