JOHN P. HIEBERT On Good Friday, April 13, 2001, John P. Hiebert left this world to be with his Saviour, his eldest grandchild Cheryl Rose, four of his brothers, Henry, Abe, Peter and David and one sister Mary. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 60 years, Anne; his children, Len Hiebert (Rose), Marjorie Dawson (Andy) and Eileen Frazer (Ken) grandchildren Sean Dawson (Shannon), Chris Hiebert, Anne Dawson, Eric and Lisa Frazer; as well as sisters Susan Harder (Dick), Helen Snyder, Anne Neufeld (Ben) and his good friend and brother Neil (Connie). John was born March 17, 1916 in Rosenfeld and married Anne on November 2, 1940. They lived in Kane, Rosenfeld, Killarney, Morden and spent the last 31 years in Winnipeg. He worked as a truck driver, garage owner, farmer, farm equipment sales rep, maintenance man and when he retired he spent so much of his time at Mordyck Auction that they put him to work. As a conscientious objector during the Second World War, he fought forest fires in B.C. He loved fishing, woodworking and travelling with his family. A dedicated Christian, John always played an active role in the churches he attended. His passing brought both sorrow for his loss and joy for his release. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 17 at 3:00 p.m. in the Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Annes Rd. Viewing at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Back to the Bible Broadcast or the Canadian Cancer Society.
