Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELFRIEDE LAGE Elfriede Lage (nee Sundermann) passed away on Good Friday, April 13, 2001 at Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home having lived a full life. Elfriede Sundermann was born on September 22, 1919 in Varenholz, Germany. She married John (Hans) Lage on March 18, 2949. They had one son, Dietmar, in 1950. Upon immigrating to Canada in 1957, they settled in Winnipeg Manitoba. Elfriede worked for the German-Canadian newspaper, The Courier, until her retirement in 1975. Elfriede was predeceased by her parents, August and Lina Sundermann, brothers Heini, August and Willi, and sisters Hilde Obenhaus and Anneliese Drake. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by John, Dietmar, her daughter-in-law Jeanette Marshall and grandson Christiaan Marshall-Lage. Also left to mourn her passing are members of the Lage family in Canada, including Heinz and Beate, Leonard and Hilda and Rudy and Louise, as well as members of the Sundermann, Obenhaus and Drake families in Germany. Members of the family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of River East Personal Care Home and Bethania Mennonite Personal Care Home for their kindness and dedication. The funeral will take place on Tuesday April 17, at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul with Reverend Abe Rempel officiating. Interment will be at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Viewing one half hour before funeral service. A donation may be made in memory of Elfriede Lage to the Movement Centre of Manitoba, 148 Redview Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2N 3C8.
