EMMA MITCHEL Emma Mitchel, age 87 years, passed away peacefully April 12, 2001, at Roblin District Health Centre, Roblin, Man. Emma Mohr was born August 27, 1913, at 633 St. Johns Ave., Winnipeg, a daughter of Henry and Anna (nee Wagner) Mohr. She attended Ralph Brown School in Winnipeg and was one of the first students to attend Shell Vale School in the Shevlin District of Manitoba. Emma married George Mitchel November 30, 1930 at Shevlin, Man. Surviving are three sons, Wilfred (Helen) Mitchell of Togo, Sask., Richard (Iona) Mitchell of Roblin, and Ernest Mitchel of Edmonton, Alta.; and foster son Raymond Zelmer of Stoney Plains, Alta.; two daughters, Ruth Zimmer of Roblin, Caroline Mitchel and Abe Reimer of Winnipeg; three brothers, Edward (Marie) Mohr, Victor Mohr of Roblin, Jack (Agnes) Mohr of Winnipeg; 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Emma was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Anna Mohr; her husband George Mitchel; sisters, Lottie, Olga and Elsie; brothers, Balzar, Bill, Daniel and Alex Mohr; daughter-in-law Leona Mitchell; son-in-law Herman Zimmer; grandchildren, Larry Zimmer and Mary-Ann. Prayer services will be held this evening at 7:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Nairn-Chyz Funeral Home, Roblin. Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 16 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Roblin, with Pastor Robert Hasselstrom officiating and interment to follow at Shevlin District Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Shevlin District Cemetery Fund or Roblin District Health Centre, Special Equipment Fund, in care of Mr. Ken Zimmer, Roblin, MB, R0L 1P0.
