ROBERT (B0B) LOFTUS On Monday, April 16, 2001, Robert died after a lengthy illness at the Riverview Health Centre, with his beloved wife Jean of 44 years of marriage by his side. He is survived by his daughters, Cathy (Rick) and Lynda; three grandchildren, Chuck, Daniel and Trevor and special nephew Kenny; sister Eileen Sabo of Farmington, MI; brother Bill of Orillia, ON; brother and sister-in-law Kenny and Pat Thomas of Winnipeg and by brother-in-law Gordon of Hodgson, MB. He was predeceased by his parents and brother Jack. Bob was born in Orillia, Ontario on December 12, 1935. He was in the Navy for five years and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 1. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 20 at 1:30 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 1, 626 Sargent Ave. with Padre Leonard Millar officiating. Comrades Jim Matthewman and Joe Reidy, who is the President of the No. 1 Legion, will give tributes. A private family interment will be held in the Military Section in Brookside Cemetery. Our family wish to thank the doctors and nurses at the Health Sciences Centre GH4, CancerCare and Riverview Health Centre for their kindness and compassion and to friends and tenants for their concerns. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobs memory to Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 1, 626 Sargent Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0A3.
