SIME (SAM) VRKIC

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIME (SAM) VRKIC Peacefully, on Wednesday, April 17, 2001, Sime Vrkic, age 78 years, passed away at the Concordia Hospital. He was predeceased by his son Marian. Sime was born on March 25, 1923, in Podlug, Croatia, immigrating to Canada in the mid 50s, where he was employed by the railways for many years before moving on into the flour mill industry, where he worked until he retired in the mid 80s. After his retirement he resided at Fred Douglas Lodge, where he spent most of his time socializing with the other residents. For the last few years he resided at Winndell Retirement Centre, where he lived for the remainder of his life. He leaves to mourn numerous friends that he has made in his lifetime, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him, including the Gospic Family and Farkas Family. On Simes behalf, we would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Winndell Retirement Centre for all the care he received in his final years. Prayers will be held on Thursday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Roman Catholic Church, 2688 Main St. with Rev. Fr. Ante Juric, O.F.M. officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL in care of arrangements - 586-8044.
