CAROLINE ELIZABETH LEMPEN (nee EDDINGTON) January 22, 1932 - April 14, 2001 It is with deep sadness and sorrow we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Caroline, age 69, on Saturday evening, April 14, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre. After difficult complications surrounding her liver illness, Caroline, surrounded by her family at her side, embraced one last opportunity to say goodbye to her family before leaving to join her son, our brother, Glenn, who passed away January 1, 1988. We are forever grateful that we were able to spend the last few hours with her and say our goodbyes in our own special way. Caroline was born and raised in St. Vital. In her early adulthood she decided to follow in her fathers footsteps and work as a baker in a local bakery. Several years later she met and married her loving husband, Percy, of 42 years and raised her own family. Mom had a special passion caring for babies and children. She cherished every moment in watching her own five children grow up. Mom, we know that family gatherings will never be the same, but we know you will always be smiling down on us as you watch us from above. Caroline is survived by her husband, Percy; her daughters, Valerie (son Tyson), Sheila and Wynn Edel (children Lane, Shasta, Cord, Bret), Melody and Faheem Chaudhary (children Kennadie, MacKenzie, Chandler) her son, Murray and Jean (children Breanne and Kyle) her sister, Joan Eddington and her beloved dog, Raven. A memorial service will take place at the Regents Park United Church, 613 St. Marys (St. Vital) on Saturday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, envelopes will be available at the church for donations to be made to the Canadian Liver Foundation or the Winnipeg Humane Society. LeClaire Brothers Funeral Services in charge of arrangements, 775-2220. A Bridge of Love You touched our lives in very special ways, Filled our homes with love and laughter through many days. Tears alone cannot express the loss and pain, As heartaches fill the void down memory lane. You trusted us to be strong and understand, You promised wed feel the firmness of your clasping hand. If we should ever need to reach your heart, We hope youll guide our groping hand and do your part. But we fear in the deepest shadows of darkness, unrest may grow, We pray youll build a bridge and walk right back to us and make it go. The Lempen Family
