JENNIE SILK (nee McCormick) Suddenly at her Don Mills, Ontario home on Monday, April 16, 2001, Jennie passed away at the age of 74 years. Jennie was predeceased by her husband, Fred. M. in 1983, whom she dearly loved; also by brother Tommy and sisters Mary and Margaret. She will be sadly missed by her son Fred E., brothers Edward and Jim, sisters Annie, Lena, Agnes and their families. Jennie was born in Gunton, Manitoba, moved to Winnipeg, then relocated to Toronto in 1955, residing there since. Jennie was a kind and gentle person always more concerned about others than herself. Jennie was always present for her family in her quiet, dignified way. To nuture and care for her husband and son was always uppermost in her mind. She was very sports minded attending and following her beloved Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. Funeral service to be held at Sherrin Funeral Home, Toronto, Ontario, Friday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. with internment alongside her beloved husband. A Memorial service in Winnipeg will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
