FRANK KENNETH WOODALL -
Born: Aug 12, 1925
Date of Passing: Apr 18, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK KENNETH WOODALL 1925 - 2001 Peacefully on April 18, 2001, after an extended stay at St. Boniface Hospital and while in the company of his family, Frank Kenneth Woodall passed away quietly into the presence of God. Frank was born in Winnipeg, Man., on August 12, 1925, to Frank and Gladys Woodall (nee White). He attended Luxton School, entered the armed forces as a teenager during the Second World War and afterwards became a bricklayers apprentice under the tutelage of his uncles. Frank worked as a bricklayer with various construction firms until his retirement. His brickwork can be seen throughout the city (the CBC building, the new City Hall, the Childrens and St. Boniface Hospitals and the additions to the University of Winnipeg). On May 17, 1947, Frank married Annette Toupin in Lethbridge, Alta. After brief residences in Hamilton, Toronto and Pickering Beach, Ont., they returned to Winnipeg in 1952 where they raised their two daughters Irene and Alice. In 1973 Frank and Annette moved to Vancouver where they lived happily until Annette suffered a massive stroke on December 11, 1984. In 1986 Frank returned to Winnipeg with Annette so that she could be close to family. Franks devotion and attention to his wifes needs during their final years together were a tribute to his tenderness and strength of character. Frank was a very private person who lived a full life filled with many hardships and yet many pleasures. He was an avid reader and spent many happy hours in front of a book. When he was younger he loved to work with wood and spent lots of time on various projects. Frank also loved nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed taking long walks and missed this when, later in life, his declining health made this impossible. Recounting stories of his many adventures as a young boy and young man gave him great pleasure. What he loved especially was his family. He found great joy in, was proud of and devoted to his grandchildren. He attended as many of their concerts and/or other special functions as his health permitted. He was a compassionate man, and his family benefited from his generosity many times over. Franks memory will be forever cherished by his daughters, Irene Pronchuck and Alice Crevier; his son-in-law Gilles Crevier and his grandsons, Gilles and Paul-Emile Crevier. He is survived by his brother Doug Woodall and his wife Betty of Markham, Ont., his brothers, Ronald and Murray and their wives, Carol and Rose of Winnipeg and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his mother Gladys (1929), his father Frank (1963) and his fathers second wife Edith (1986). Special thanks to the many health care personnel on the 5th floor of St. Boniface Hospital who took care of Frank during his extended stay and especially those on 5E who gave him compassionate care near the end, doing everything possible to make him comfortable during his final days and hours. A service will be conducted in Franks honour at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., entrance on Aubrey Street, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24. A small reception will follow. In accordance to Franks wishes, cremation has already taken place. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to do so may make a donation in Franks memory to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Man, R3A 1P6, or to a charity of their choice. This world is not conclusion, A sequel lies beyond Invisible as music but Positive as sound. EMILY DICKINSON NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

Happy anniversary mom & dad! Tomorrow, May 17th, would have been your 75th wedding anniversary. You'd be happy to know that Irene paid Gilles and I a visit recently. Unfortunately the blizzard hit just as she arrived and didn't leave until she was heading back to Halifax. Any plans we had to take her out went down the tubes. It was still nice spending time with her. We made the most of it. As always I often think of you both. Love, Alice - Posted by: Alice (daughter) on: May 16, 2022

May 17th, 2020 would have been your 73rd wedding anniversary. When I think of you I automatically think of mom as well. Living in Vancouver after retirement brought both of you closer together. After mom suffered from a hemorrhagic stroke on Dec. 11, 1984 and you returned to Winnipeg with her, you spent time with her daily at the Poseidon Care Home until her passing. Adversity could not separate the two of you, It’s hard to believe that your beloved wife, my mother, would be turning 100 years old on Sept. 23. 2020! Just know that you are both in my thoughts and in my heart, today and always. I always think of you and mom but more so during the Christmas season. Memories created so many years ago act as a bridge between us. No matter how long we're apart, we remain as close as ever as long as those memories shine brightly within my heart. Irene, who seemed happy and content when I spoke with her over the phone yesterday, feels as I do. We are and will always be a united family. Merry Christmas mom and dad. From your daughter Alice.
