JOYCE MARGARET KEASLER (GRANDA) (HEIGHTON) Mrs. Joyce Margaret Keasler (Granda) (Heighton), a resident of Thunder Bay, died peacefully, though suddenly on April 12, 2001. Joyce was born to Harry and Ada Heighton on October 18, 1923 in St. Vital, MB. Joyce remained in Winnipeg completing her education and becoming a secretary. She excelled in music, the piano being her instrument of choice. Joyce pursued her career, working as a medical records technician until her retirement. In 1946 Joyce married Julien Granda. They made their home in Winnipeg until his death in 1961. Joyce rebuilt her life by continuing her career and also discovering her passion for the theatre. She was a talented actress and was actively involved with Actors Showcase. In 1974 Joyce met and married Jim Keasler. She moved with Jim to Dallas, Texas. Joyce returned to Canada following Jims death, settling in Thunder Bay, where she was involved with Cambrian Players. Joyce was predeceased by her parents; her two husbands, and her sisters, Jean Herne and Betty Black. She is survived by her sister Catherine Heighton; brothers-in-law, John Herne and George Black; five nieces and nephews, and eight great nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and interment of cremated remains will take place in St. Vital Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Sargent & Son Funeral Directors, 21 N. Court St.
