PAT. G. SAWATSKY Peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2001, Pat G. Sawatsky went to be with the Lord from Grace Hospital after a valiant battle with liver cancer. Pat will be lovingly remembered by wife Ruth; children, Barry Neal (Sonya nee Bredin), Alma Colleen, Douglas Mark, and Tara Dawn; grandchildren, Julia, Karl and Kayla, and Ian, Bryan and Rachel; parents George W. and Marian; mother-in-law Mary Friesen of Steinbach; sister Linda Schmidt of Altona, brother Ben of Altona; sister Agatha of Winnipeg; brother Don of Winnipeg and brother Daniel of Altona as well as other family members. Pat was predeceased by his sister Judy. He was known far and wide in the business community as an industrious and ingenious individual. Pat was an active member of Victory Baptist and known to children of all ages as the "candyman". Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, 3428 Portage Ave., phone: 832-6282, with Pastor Archie Dyck officiating. There will be visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens with reception in the Church Fellowship Hall. The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides in the Grace Hospital Palliative Care Unit as well as Dr. P. Harris and Dr. Michael Chernick for their care.
