SHIRLEY MARTHA JOHNSON (nee KIESMAN) After a courageous battle with cancer, Shirley passed away Thursday, April 19, 2001. She leaves behind three beloved children, Jacqueline Godri (Don), Heather Brodeur (Randy) and Byron Johnson all of whom she loved and adored. She is also survived by her dear mother Martha Kiesman and four special grandchildren, Bennett and Bradley Godri and Kristen and Hayley Brodeur. She will be sadly missed by numerous relatives and friends. Shirley and her only son Byron shared a very special bond, she always felt that he was a "later life" gift and happily shared years with him. Shirley was predeceased by her father Charles Kiesman; brothers, William (infant) and Melville; sister Irene and step-father James Hugo. Mom had a special way of touching the lives of everyone that knew her and will be fondly remembered and missed by many. The family wishes to thank life long friend Vicki Clemente, as well as Ed and Helen Hughes for all their love and compassion. Thanks to Dr. P. Harris, Home Care and the VON services for their professional care of Mom. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 23, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue with Dr. Ed Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and a reception will be in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Shirleys memory to Cancer Care Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg MB, R3E 0V9. "We love you Mom, may you rest in peace."
