ELAINE LUCILLE SMITH
Born: May 17, 1961
Date of Passing: Apr 16, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELAINE LUCILLE SMITH May 17, 1961 - April 16, 2001 Peacefully, among family and cherished friends, on Monday, April 16, 2001, with great courage and grace. Lucille will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted husband Grant, beloved son Stuart and parents Rene and Rose Lampertz. She is also mourned by her sisters and brothers, Irene Lampertz, Maria (Larry) Livingstone, Lorraine Clark, Rita (Greg) Lampertz-Shedden, Raymond (Audrey) Lampertz and Roland (Michele) Lampertz; best friend Margaret; many nieces and nephews and countless friends. To her friends and family, Elaine Lucille was a gift, easily loved and very much admired. Her kindness and thoughtfulness were often unexpected, but never a surprise to those who knew her. She happily shared her lifelong passion for reading with the children she loved, especially Stuart, Michael, Ben, Katy and Wes, and later, with the students of Bobby Bend School. The quilts she carefully stitched for those she loved will all be treasured. Lucille lived for her family. Some of her greatest joys were times spent camping at Adam Lake, quilting with Margaret, Christmases and family pizza nights with the Sheddens. Her home was her refuge and she, an anchor. Lucilles intelligent humour and unconditional support will be especially missed by her loving husband Grant; she is his muse. Above all, Lucille was a mother to Stuart. Her love and devotion to her son were infinite. Her first concern was always his well being, and she was very proud of the person hes become. She will continue to guide and inspire him through the journals she has left. Grant, Stuart and Rita would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support: Dr. Maxwell; Anne Anderson and the staff at the Victoria Hospital for seven years of care and encouragement; the beautiful women of her support group who she admired and from whom she gained so much; Margaret, just for being, and Jill Taylor-Brown for giving Elaine back her spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elaine Lucilles memory will be gratefully accepted to the Breast Cancer Fund or Kids Can Cope in care of CancerCare Manitoba, 109 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Man., R3E 0V9. A service will be held on Monday, April 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Stonewall Quarry Park Interpretive Centre.
