IDA LANDRY (nee DESORCY) "Surrounded by my loving family, I passed away peacefully after a courageous fight with cancer on April 21, 2001, at my daughter Jeanette's home in Lorette, Man. I will ever be thankful for her care during my stay. I was predeceased by my husband Aime (May 1992) son Guy (January 1988) my dear parents, Ubald and Alphonsine Desorcy and brother Leonard. I am leaving behind my cherished family, Michelle, Roger (Patricia), Jeanette (Marcel), Colette, Larry (Lynda), Rheal (Heather), Ricky and fiancee Naomi as well as a daughter-in-law Helene. I will miss dearly my grandchildren, Cori, Janelle, Daniel, Cherie, Johanne, Lynette, Chantal, Celine, Gilbert, Jean-Paul, Marc and my first great-grandchild Jude. I will always hold a very warm place in my heart for my sisters and brothers, Irene, Eugenie, Sr. Florence, Sr. Bernadette, Gertrude, George (Alice), Edward (Milly), and Gerard (Marie-Anne). My sisters-in-law, Gracia, Maria and brother-in-law Fred and Marguerite (Toots) I will also miss, plus numerous nieces and nephews. I was born in Lorette on June 18, 1924 and spent most of my years raising my family on the farm. Doing volunteer work, teaching school, participating on various parish committees gave me a chance to meet many friends and get involved at the community level. During the last few years I devoted my time to my family while still volunteering with the church. I will miss dearly all of my friends and beloved family. I want to thank Dr. Hughes, my homecare staff, Father Maurice and Father Gilbert for all their support. My beloved Jeannette thanks for your excellent care and compassion during the last few weeks. Good bye everyone, I love you all." Mom was always ready to lend her support. She was a very giving and caring person. This is evident in the many unselfish deeds she performed, but to us her greatest gift was her love for her family. We love you Mom and Memere, and thank you for being the kind of mother God had in mind when he created Mothers. Mom loved God and God loved her. We will deeply miss you. Rest in Peace. Mom our thoughts are with you in the attached poem. In Tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away. You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, But still you kept on fighting Until the very end. God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, So HE put HIS arms around you and whispered, "Come to me". So when we saw you sleeping so peacefully, free from pain, We could not wish you back to suffer that again. All Our Love, Your children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Moms wish has to have family members get together and contribute to the adopt a child campaign or agency of their choice. Prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 24 at the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Church, followed by the Mass of the Resurrection. Celebrants will be Rev. Father Maurice Jeanneau and Rev. Father Gilbert Gariepy. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
