ALEXANDER McLEAN Peacefully after a lengthy illness, Alex passed away in the early morning April 22, 2001, with his family at his side at the Stonewall Hospital. Alex was born in East Selkirk January 8, 1918, and moved to the Argyle area at an early age. He served overseas in the R.C.A.F. and was honourably discharged February 6, 1946. He is survived by his wife Jessie of 55 years; daughter Heather (Ron) Unger; sons, Danny (Karen) of Port Coquitlam, BC, and Lockie (Diana) grandchildren, Randy (Barbie), Dana (Brent), Darcy (Colleen), Kelly (Tony), Chelsey, Lachlan, Braeland, and Logan; and constant companion "Sparky". He was predeceased by his son Ian in 1975; parents, Malcolm and Peggy McLean; brothers, George, Murdoch, Malcolm; and sisters, Annie, Margaret and Mae. Funeral service will be April 25 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall, with Rev. John Holmen officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy and Darcy Unger, Gunnar Kratzer, Colin, Bob and Barry Cameron. A reception will follow at the Stonewall Legion. Burial of ashes to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital would be appreciated. Many thanks to Dr. Mohamdu, Dr. Atello, and all the nurses for their care and compassion.
