MARTHA ELSIE KITSCH (nee NAUJOKS) After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, her essence and soul was returned to the loving arms of our Lord on April 22, 2001. Her love and memories continue through her husband and best friend of 49 years Philip Kitsch; her daughter Edie OConnor; her daughter-in-law Bernice; her son Rudy; and her brother Emil Naujoks. Omas greatest joy will always remain with her most precious grandsons, Kristian and Garrett. Born in Lithuania on June 30, 1930, Martha came to Canada in 1949 and had resided in Winnipeg and later, in the small community of Grosse Isle, MB. In those early days, Mom was an active member of St. Peters Lutheran Church. It was here that she met her future husband Philip. They were married on July 5, 1952. A family was soon started. She directed all her love and energy, with a dedication known only to mothers, in raising and caring for the family, and then later on her "little guys". It was the company of close friends and family that Mom cherished the most. She loved spending time with her extended "Twin Beach Family". That included a visit from a friend just to share a simple cup of coffee, or singing songs by a bonfire on the beach under the star filled sky. She also enjoyed dancing at the German Hall, and get-togethers with her girlfriends from "Lithuania". The funeral service will be held at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St. Pastor Christoph Reiners will be officiating on Friday, April 27 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be her loving nieces and nephews, Richard and Michelle Naujoks, Darrell and Ruby Grymonpre, Robin and Rita Henderson. The family would like to extend our sincerest thanks to Dr. Pat Harris, Dr. Janice Mulder and the incredible nursing staff at the Grace Hospital. Their kindness and compassion will always be remembered. If friends so desire, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. In tears we saw you sinking We watched you fade away You suffered much in silence You fought so hard to stay You faced your task with courage Your spirit did not bend But you still kept on fighting Until the very end God saw you getting tired So He put his arms around you And whispered "Come with Me" So when we saw you sleeping So peacefully free from pain We could not wish you back To suffer that again Our family chain is broken And nothing stays the same As God calls us one by one Our chain will link again "Remember her love" LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue 949-4872
