Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES McFARLANE It is with deep regret that the family of Charles McFarlane announce his passing on Sunday, April 22, 2001. Charles is survived by Betty, his beloved wife of 49 years; son Bill (Nina), daughter Susan McKendry (Jim) and son Gordon (Cathy) grandchildren, Melanie, Elizabeth, Aileen, Robbie, Michele, Amanda and Micheal; great-grandchildren, Deja and Acacia and sisters, Viola Wandowich and Ivy Moggey. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother. Charlie was born in Winnipeg on December 30, 1926. He started working as an apprentice electrician at the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1943 and worked there until his retirement in 1985. Charlie enjoyed a happy retirement with his family until he became ill four years ago. He enjoyed working in his garage, playing cribbage and travelling to Las Vegas with Betty. Charlie also spent many enjoyable afternoons with C.P.R. "coffee crowd" at the Garden City Shopping Centre. Betty would like to thank all of our family, friends and neighbours for all of their support. Special thank you to the Emergency Response Team and the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital Emergency for all of their caring and kindness. Also thank you Dr. Nyhoff and nurse Betty. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
