JOSEPHINE "PHENNIE" DERCOLA (nee CASCISA) June 9, 1911 - April 23, 2001 Peacefully, surrounded by her family of loved ones, Mom passed away April 23, 2001, at Grace General Hospital at the age of 89 years. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, Bert Dercola and Susan Cowell; daughter-in-law Marcie Dercola and son-in-law Alan Cowell; cherished by her grandchildren, Debbie and Joey Snyder, Tracie and Brad Graham, Dale Mantie (Jennifer Anderson), Dean Mantie (Nicole Gill), Joely Dercola (Keith McEwen), Mark and Sara Cowell and newly arrived great-grandchildren, Trenton Graham and Ashley Mantie. Mom was predeceased by her husband Mike, sister Mary "Toots" Cancilla and brother Sam Cascisa. Honoured by the Catholic Womens League for 50 years of dedication, Mom was a very special woman, devoted to her family and loved by all. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave., with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding at the Eucharist. Viewing thirty minutes prior to service. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Mantie, Dean Mantie, Mark Cowell, Joey Snyder, Keith McEwen and Sam Cancilla. Sincere thanks to the 5th floor nursing staff at Grace General Hospital for their care and compassion during her stay in the hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of ones choice in Moms memory would be appreciated.
