HILDA VOLLRATH (nee RIDLEY) Hilda Vollrath, widow of Charles Vollrath, died peacefully on April 24, 2001, at the Deer Lodge Centre. Predeceased by her parents George and Groa Ridley; sisters, Annie, Grace, Nellie, Ida and Mary; brothers, Charles, Oliver, George and Albert; son-in-law Edward Denenfeld and grandson Gregory Denenfeld. She is survived by daughter Eleanor; sons, Robert (Mary) and Raymond (Maxine) grandchildren, Karen, Diane, Charlene, Tannis, Bradley and Glenda; great-grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Evan, Owen, Dustin, Stephanie and Michael as well as many nieces and nephews. Hilda was born August 28, 1901, in Winnipeg, Man. She attended McPhillips and John M. King Schools, starting her working life at age 13. Baptized and confirmed in 1915 at St. Barnabas Anglican Church on McPhillips, her faith was strong throughout her life. Always a loving and kind person, she was deeply loved by her family and respected by all who knew her. Her favourite pastimes were playing bridge with her ladies club and curling at Deer Lodge Curling Club, where she was a longtime member. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Kildonan Personal Care Home, Concordia Hospital Emergency Ward and the Deer Lodge Centre TACT Ward 3E for their kindness and understanding. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28 at Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway. A private family internment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, 1080 Portage Ave., or a charity of ones choice. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
