GERTRUD ISAAK (DE VEER) Passed away peacefully in her home on April 25, 2001 at the age of 90. Gertrud was born September 17, 1910, in Alexeifeld, Ukraine. She immigrated to Canada in March 1930 and married Henry P. Isaak on November 23, 1935 in Winnipeg. Gertrud was predeceased by her husband Henry in April 1974. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Harold and wife Elizabeth, Selma and husband Victor Bock, Siegfried and wife Eleanor, Elvera and Henry; grandchildren, Teresa and Tom Warkentin, Lillian and Rick Koch, Dean Isaak, Colin and Monica Bock, Heather and Rick Wiebe, Tamara and Jason Dyck, Krista and Darren Carlson, and great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Luke Warkentin, Jordan, Alyssa and Mikayla Koch and David Dyck. She is also survived by one brother Peter de Veer of Black Creek, BC as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 1 at 2:00 p.m. at the Springstein Mennonite Church with Rev. Henry Neufeld officiating. Interment in Springstein Cemetery. Viewing will be at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy., April 30, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. (devotional at 7:15 p.m.) and also prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or to a charity of choice.
