RAYMOND STANLEY GALT PATTON November 5, 1932 - April 26, 2001 On April 26 at the Victoria General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, Stan Patton died after a long and heartbreaking struggle with Alzheimers disease. Stan was born November 5, 1932. At the age of 17, he started work at Advocate Printers and remained with the same company for 46 years, although the name of the company changed due to mergers. He retired at the age of 63. Stan loved life. ("You cant beat the good life".) His passions were his family and friends, his church and his music. He sang with the Winnipeg Boys Choir, the Philharmonic Choir, the Barbershoppers, and Immanuel United Church. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and loyal friend. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Betty, and six children and their spouses; Janet Bird (George), Gordon Patton (Sharon), Leslie Ross (Brad), Terry Patton (Shelly), Diane Cann (Greg), Cathy Haining (Bruce), 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, his mother-in-law Merle Cox, his sister Iris Milner (Bob) and family, and many, many friends. Predeceased by his mother Madge Ketcheson (Everett) and his father John (Jack) Patton. The family wishes to thank his care givers (Phillip and Carlos) the caring staff of 2B Riverview Health Centre and the kind nurses at the Victoria General Hospital, especially Heather, Linda and Hai. A celebration of Stans life will take place at Immanuel United Church at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 30. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stans memory can be made to Immanuel Church Memorial Fund, 755 Golspie, The Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street or a charity of choice.
