ROSE ZALUBNIAK (nee Paracholski) Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Rose passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2001 at the Gimli Betel Home with family at her side. Rose was born in Gimli on May 5, 1912. She was predeceased by her first husband John Cherniak (1956) and second husband John Zalubniak (1979) her parents, Mary and Harry Paracholski and her nine brothers and sisters. She leaves to mourn her two sons, Joe (Alice) Cherniak and Edward (Marianne) Cherniak; her grandchildren, Randy (Tanis), Beverley (Conrad), Debbie (Lyle), Clifford (friend Amber), Karen (John), Marcey (Kevin), Darrell (Stacey) and Sheldon (Claudia) great-grandchildren, Jordon, Taylor, Kimberley, Reid, Timothy, Ian and Dana; and her sisters-in-law, Anne Paracholski and Stella Cherniak. Rose loved to cook and entertain, and has served many delicious meals to family and friends. She was also known for her lovely embroidery and crocheting, but gardening and flowers were her passion. She was proud to receive her first ever trophy and medal which she received in carpet bowling at the New Horizon Senior Center. Rose was also faithful to her God, attending church regularly at the Betel Home. Prayers will be said on Sunday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Gimli with Fr. Jose Cabral officiating. Interment to follow in the Gimli Community Cemetery. Roses pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Randy, Clifford, Lyle, Conrad, John, Darrell, Sheldon and Kevin. The family wishes to thank Dr. Z. Wiesenthal and the nursing staff at the Betel Home for their care and compassion. Also all the friends and family who visited in these last years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, Box 2248, Station Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. May God be with you Mom, and God Bless.
