GLADYS HYDE The family is sad to announce the passing of Gladys Hyde, on April 25, 2001, at the age of 73 years after a long battle with cancer. Gladys was predeceased by her husband Henry Hyde and one sister Dorothy Decker. Gladys is survived by her two children, son Lorne Hyde and wife Linda of Stewart, B.C., and her daughter Debbie Kars and husband Jerry. She will also be greatly missed by her three grandchildren, Chad and Izumi Hyde of Japan, Sheri and Mike Smith of Calgary, Alta., and Andrew Kars of Selkirk; sisters, Florence (PeeWee) and husband Howard White; and Marie Gulle, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Gladys was born in Domremy, Sask., on November 14, 1927. She was a longtime resident of Selkirk for 50 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 10:30 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, with Rev. Stephen Sharman officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Clements Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Keith Duff, Tony Chuchie, Joe Decker, Howard White, Johnny Gulle and Billy Cholosky. The family would like to thank the nursing staff, along with Dr. Wozney of the Selkirk General Hospital for their care. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
