Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLESLIE JANE THERESA OBRIEN On April 25, 2001, Leslie Jane Theresa OBrien of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away suddenly at the age of 51 years. Leslie was a wonderful mom, daughter, sister and friend. She will always be remembered for her warmth, her humor, her ethics, and especially her generosity. Leslie was the devoted mother of Daniel Patrick Roarke OBrien and his fiancee Vanessa Swain. She was the eldest daughter of Marlene OBrien of Edmonton and the late Harry OBrien. Leslie is survived by her brothers, Laurie OBrien of Edmonton, Timothy OBrien of Vancouver (Jennifer Hogan, Laurel & Shannon), Michael OBrien of Mississauga (Barb OBrien, Sandy & Connor) and her sisters, Maureane OShaugnessy of Edmonton (Michael OShaugnessy, Leagh & Aiden), Shelagh OBrien of Toronto (Paul Graham, Shaughn, Alannah & Erin), and Kerry OBrien of Edmonton (Larry LeBlanc, Lindsay & Brianne). She is also survived by her nephew Jay Yuzwenko and great-nephew Aiden Yuzwenko and her two honourary nephews, Jay and Brett. Leslie will also be dearly missed by her many good friends, especially Shirley & Ray, Pat and faithful friend Indy. Leslie was born March 8, 1950 in Saskatoon. She attended St. Marys Academy and Dakota Collegiate in Winnipeg. She graduated from U of A with a teachers certificate and taught grade 5 at St. Gerards Elementary, Winnipeg. Leslie obtained her Manitoba Realtors License in 1970 and had the distinction of being the first woman and youngest president of the Manitoba Real Estate Board. She was also a director of the Canadian Real Estate Association. After working for many years with Delbro Real Estate Leslie eventually became a partner. Leslie will be forever missed by her loving son, family and friends. We will always remember her strength, courage, compassion and spirit and her selfless desire to support anyone in need. She loved the gathering of family and friends around her. We mourn her passing and celebrate her life. As expressions of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made in Leslies memory to Habitat for Humanity, 2nd Floor 75 Archibald St. Boniface, 233-5599. Leslies many friends and extended family are invited to a memorial service on Monday, April 30, 3:00 p.m. at St. Timothy Parish, 135 John Forsyth Road. Reception to follow.
