VIOLA J. (JEAN) SMITH (nee TAYLOR) Peacefully, at Tuxedo Villa April 24, 2001 in her 89th year. Vi was predeceased by her husband Clarence in 1981; four brothers and one sister. Left to cherish her memory is one son Douglas and daughter-in-law Carolynne; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Laura Barry (Killarney) numerous nieces and nephews. Vi was born at Port Arthur, Ont., (Thunder Bay) October 25, 1911, and moved west to Brandon as a young adult. Following her marriage to Clare they farmed in the Ninga area for many years prior to moving to Winnipeg in 1954. She greatly enjoyed her home, family, pets and many friends she made while living on McCreary Road. According to mothers wishes, immediate cremation has taken place. Her remains will be interred in the family plot in the Ninga Cemetery at a later date.
