Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMRS. MONA CULLEN (nee STAFFORD) On April 27, 2001, our precious aunt and best friend went to be with her Lord whom she had served faithfully. Left to mourn her passing are her niece Patricia (nee Malcolm) (Edward) Etsell and family; nephews, Charles (Mil) Stafford and family, Bert McKague and family, Alan (Anne) Stafford and family and Dennis Stafford and family. The faithful visits of her great-nieces, Sharon Etsell, Patricia Woods and very special great-great-niece Kathleen Woods were greatly appreciated. Mona was especially pleased with a visit from great-nephew James shortly before her death. Also leaving to mourn her passing are her husbands family, David (Wilma) Cullen and family, Mary Yanke and family, Frank (Joan) Cullen and family, Larry (Pat) and family. Mary who lives in Winnipeg was a constant visitor and always brought a smile to her face. Mona was predeceased by her husband Douglas; siblings, Muriel Stafford, Bert (Jack) Stafford and Kathleen Bain, nee Stafford; nieces, Natalie Woods, nee Malcolm and Sheila McKague, nee Stafford and stepson-in-law Dan Yanke. Heritage Lodge had just hosted a celebration for Mona in honour of her 100th birthday on April 5, 2001. She was, in truth, a "queen for a day," surrounded by family, balloons, flowers and the residents and staff of the Lodge. Thank you Heritage Lodge staff for your loving kindness and caring. Mona was born in Dublin in 1901, coming to Canada with her family in 1909. After her schooling she worked at the Royal Bank until her early retirement because of deterioration in her hearing capacity. She then embarked on a new career, that of wife and homemaker, when she married Doug Cullen. Her faith brought her through lifes hardships and she always managed to give something back to the Lord. Mona, in her earlier years, taught at the Sunday School Mission, the Union Gospel Mission, and attended Wesley Church in its early years. She also sang in the choir at Elim Chapel for many years until the loss of her hearing hindered her. Mona always had a soft spot for Missions and supported them when she was able. A memorial service will be held at Weston Gospel Church, 1787 Logan Ave., Winnipeg (corner of Keewatin and Logan), on Thursday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor A. Duncalfe officiating. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Weston Gospel Chapel Building Fund, P.O. Box 32066, Dickens St., Winnipeg, Man., R3E 3M7, or to Covenant Home, 20 Gerrard St. E., P.O. Box 20026, Stn. CRM-B, Toronto, Ont., M5B 2P3. Au Revoir dear Mona, "We will see you in the morning." LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue 949-4872
