Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER (VLADYMIR) HRYNYK After a lengthy illness and courageous battle, it is with great sadness and deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Walter on Saturday, April 28, 2001. Walter was born in Strij, Western Ukraine on April 20, 1924, one of four children. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1950 and married Julie in 1954. Walter worked as a tailor for 15 years and then in 1962 went into partnership in Metro Meats, retiring in 1989. He was one of the original members of Carpathia Credit Union and attended Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral. Walter and Julie spent time travelling, gardening and enjoying their park-like yard. Julie will miss her life partner and best friend dearly. Besides his cherished wife of 47 years, Julie, Walter leaves to mourn sons, Walter Jr. (Kelly), Daniel (Michelle) and their son Macky; sister Janka Stolar, nephews Thor Stolar, Pierre Hrynyk all of Winnipeg; niece Darka Moskal and nephew Ihor Hrynyk of Ukraine; sister-in-law Jean Scibak and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Stephan and Katrina Hrynyk; brothers, Stephan Jr. and Peter. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Tuesday (tonight) May 1, at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 2 also at the Chapel with Rev. M.
