Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) LEVY Peacefully on April 29, 2001 at the Health Sciences Centre, William (Bill) Levy, beloved husband of Muriel, passed away at the age of 73. He is survived by Muriel, his loving wife of 48 years; son Paul, daughter-in-law Diane, and two precious grandchildren, Christy and Steven. He is also survived by Margaret Bishop, Alma and Arthur Eastman, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bill was born in Iceland and, as an infant, came to Canada with his family. He was very proud of his Icelandic heritage and he and Muriel visited his birthplace in 1987. Bill was employed at Consolidated Plate Glass (AFG) for 30 years, retiring in 1983. Following retirement, he was a volunteer driver for cancer patients for 14 years. He was a longtime member of Christ Church Anglican and served on the Vestry and many committees. He was also a faithful member of Capitol Lodge No. 136, A.F. & A.M., and was proud to have been the recipient of the William Douglas Medal in 1984. A very sincere thank you to Bills home care workers, all the doctors, nurses and staff at West Park Manor Personal Care Home, Deer Lodge Centre, and the Health Sciences Centre for the excellent care, compassion and support shown to Bill and his family during his illness. Cremation has taken place with interment at Garry Memorial Park. A Service of Remembrance will be held in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, on Wednesday, May 2 at 3:30 p.m., with The Reverend Murray Still officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bills memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or CancerCare Manitoba. "Memories are a gift from God that death cannot destroy."
