Ernie worked in the signals department at the C.N.R. until his retirement in 1989. His passion was 10 pin bowling which he participated in until his illness forced him to quit. He was President of the Laverandre Seniors League for several years and made many friends through the many leagues that he played in. He was also a member of the Fort Garry Legion No. 90 and there he joined shuffleboard in the Sr. League where again he made many new friends. Ernie always had a word of advice for everyone and he was able to help many with his remedies. He was also very proud of his Metis heritage and was working on the family tree for many years. He also loved to spend time at Steep Rock and at the cottage in Lac Du Bonnet. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and extended family and his loved companions, Ky and Kandy. Special thanks to Dr. Pan and Dr. Sharma. Also thank you to Rose, Pat and special thanks to Limson of the home care team. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association. A service of Remembrance will be held in the chapel of Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. 1 East at Green Acres Lane on Tuesday, May 1 at 12:00 noon. Private interment will take place at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In tears we saw you sinking We watched you fade away You suffered much in silence You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage Your spirit did not bend But you still kept on fighting Until the very end. God saw you getting tired So he put his arms around you And whispered "Come with Me" So when we saw you sleeping So peacefully free from pain We could not wish you back To suffer that again. Our Family chain is broken And nothing stays the same As God calls us one by one Our chain will link again. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
