DAVID STEWART DEWAR On April 29, 2001, David Stewart Dewar passed away at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. David was born in Winnipeg, November 23, 1946, the son of The Honourable Archibald Stewart and Ethel Margaret Dewar (nee Purves). He leaves behind his parents; his brothers, Robert Andrew, Q.C., Ian Ross; sister-in-law Karen (nee Jensen) nephew Mark; niece Nancy; uncles and aunts, Arthur B. Purves of Victoria, B.C., Thomas and Margaret Dewar of Qualicum Beach, B.C., Robert and Betty Dewar of Vancouver, B.C., and many cousins, as well as special friends he made over the years at Calvary Temple and the Meter Shop at Manitoba Hydro. David spent the first years following school in St. James as an assistant at the Birchwood Animal Hospital. There he put to use his natural abilities with dogsabilities rooted in a love of animals which he carried with him all his life. He spent 25 years as a dedicated employee at Manitoba Hydro, first in the Meter Shop, then as a meter reader. He returned to the Meter Shop when his illness precluded outdoor work and remained there until disabled by chronic illness in February of this year. David was proud of his service at Manitoba Hydro and the 25 year ring he earned last year. His quiet way and strong Christian faith were reflected in all aspects and activities of his life. His memory is cherished. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 3 at 2:00 p.m. in the Buntain Chapel of Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St., with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating.
