EDWARD ARNOLD KLIMPKE Suddenly on Monday, April 30, 2001, at the Grace Hospital, Edward Arnold Klimpke, beloved husband of Elsie of 58 years, died at the age of 84. Ed is survived and sadly missed by his sons, Brian (Vicki), Larry (Phyllis) and daughter Sandy (Murray) grandchildren, Wade (fiancee Shannon), Evan, Ashley, Kyle, Erin, Brett and Tyler; brothers, Carl (Minnie), Walter (Grace), John (Sophie) sisters, Martha Slater and Lanie Neetz; brother-in-law George Croy; sisters-in-law, Lil Isbister, Mary Emmerton, Olive and Bertha Klimpke; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Fritz and Maria; brothers, William, Gerhard and Fred; sisters, Ann and Louise. Edward and his family lived on the family farm - north of the perimeter and farmed with his brother John - both as a dairy farmer and grain producer. During his farming years, Ed was recognized for his many years as a Director on the Board of Rockwood - Victoria Cooperative. He was also very proud to serve his country in the Second World War and being a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 52. Ed served numerous years, on the executive and was one of the members instrumental in the building of the Stonewall Legion. In later years, although in declining health, his family always came first. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him and will hold a special place in our hearts forever. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Wade, Evan, Kyle, Brett, Tyler; granddaughter Erin; and great-nephew Tim Williams. Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 3 from 7:30 to 8:30 at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church (just north of Inkster), 2528 King Edward St., Winnipeg. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall in care of arrangements.
