PETER SCOTT (BLACK) 1930 - 2001 On Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at 2:00 a.m. at his daughters home in Winnipeg, Peter Scott passed away at the age of 71 years. Peter was predeceased by his wife Verna Mary Scott; children, Pauline and Gordon Scott; three baby infants; parents, Isaac Scott of Cross Lake, Lucy Scott (nee Vincent) sisters, Elizabeth Woodhouse, Virginia Hornbrook, Agnes Scott of Jackhead, Beatrice Fisher of Bloodvein, Alice Everette and Frances Green of Berens River; brothers, Einar and Frederick Scott of Jackhead, Jacob Scott of Bloodvein; and cousin Stanley Morrisseau. He is survived by two brothers, Wilson Scott of Hollow Water and Archie Scott of Grand Rapids; two sisters, Nora (Donald) Bird of Hollow Water and Isabella Cook of Bloodvein; sons, Edwin, Richard (Maureen), Norman (Kim) and Rodney (Sheila) daughters, Barbara (Lorne) Wood, Sylvia Scott and Florence (Ken) Black; 42 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; eight godchildren; close friends, Cody and Maria Bushie of Hollow Water and Ruby Bird of Hollow Water and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter led an avid lifestyle of commercial fisherman and trapper on Lake Winnipeg. He was employed by the Hollow Water First Nation as a medical transportation driver up until his retirement, acting chief for his community as well as a member of the local school committee for the Wanipigow School. Wake services were held on Tuesday, May 1 and Wednesday, May 2, and will also be held on Thursday, May 3 and Friday, May 4 at the residence of Richard Scott, Hollow Water. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Hollow Water, MB with Fr. Laval Cloutier officiating. Interment to follow at the Hollow Water Roman Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thanks to the doctors and nurses of the St. Boniface Hospital, the home care staff, and V.O.N.
