MICHAEL WOJCZYNSKI On April 30 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Michael Wojczynski peacefully passed away. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elisabeth Wojczynski; son Eduard Wojczynski (married to Diane McGifford) daughter Maria Mitchell (married to Stuart Mitchell) grandchildren, Vincent, Aaron, Elona and Richard; and great-grandchildren, Vickie, Brandon, and Jordan. Born on August 14, 1916 in Bochnia, Poland, Mike fought in the Second World War from 1939 to 1945 in Poland with the militia, with the French Foreign Legion in the Middle East and with the British Polish Regiment in North Africa and Italy, including Monte Cassino. He immigrated to the Netherlands in 1948 where he met and married Elisabeth. In 1954 Mike and Elisabeth, along with Eduard and Maria, immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada. Mike immensely enjoyed fishing on the Winnipeg River and tending to his numerous boats. From his grandfather, he inherited a fondness for planting and caring for trees. He loved making wine from his own vines. Those who knew Mike were aware of his strong character and steadfast devotion to those he loved. We will miss him. His commemoration ceremony will take place Saturday, May 5, 11:00 a.m. at the New Apostolic Church, 1755 Taylor Avenue. The family would like to thank all Staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, 5th Floor, Unit 7, for their compassion, thoughtfulness and care. In lieu of flowers donations might be made to the New Apostolic Church Mission fund or to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME 843 Sherbrook, 774-7474
