ANNA DAVIDOW
Born: Jul 04, 1902
Date of Passing: Apr 22, 2001
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA DAVIDOW July 4, 1902 - April 22, 2001 Mom was born in the Ukraine. In 1919 the family came to Canada to the Poplarfield area. At the age of 22 she married Fred Davidow. From the reunion there were three sons born. Gran was a very proud woman. She worked very hard to get what we now call our home. Gran enjoyed hard work because as she always said it kept her stay slim. Gran could be found in her garden or yard among her trees. Trees were her greatest pleasure and when the plum trees bloom we will think of her. Gran lived in her own home and looked after herself to the age of 95 when a disastrous fall caused her health to fail. To the last of her days Gran asked not to go to the hospital or personal care home - "Thats for old people ", shed say. Gran was cared for by her son and grandchildren who thought the world of her. The great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren called her "Boobi" and "Bauchee". Funeral services will be held April 27, 2001 at the Anglican Church in Fisherton at 2:00 p.m. Prayers and viewing on Thursday, April 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fisher Funeral Home in Fisher Branch. The family requests that no flowers be sent. Instead, a donation to the Fisher Handy Van be made in her memory with the Fisher Funeral Home. We, the Davidows, would like to thank Gail Joyce, Karen, Helen, Ken, Dr. Russell, and especially Kathy Stevenson for their care and understanding at this very hard time. Dr. Greg Andreas - thanks for coming to the house to see her. Pam and Bonnie - we wish to let you know we appreciate your being there when we could not. Your kindness is so special to us. Thank you. To each and every person who touched Grans life in so many ways - your kindness to her was just one more thing to be thankful for. We know she treasured your visits and phone calls so very much. Gran was predeceased by her husband Fred Davidow January 7, 1971; four brothers, John, Stan, Fred, and Mike; one sister Mary; two sons, John and Stanley. She is survived by her son Walter and grandchildren, Melvin, Chery, David, Charlene, Susan, Rick, Lucky, Pam, Koko, and Joann; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandgirls. Gran is also survived by many American friends whom she met through her grandson Luckys hunting hobby. There are many friends far and near who spoke of her. Though she was a very private person, the family admitted her to the Percy E. Moore Hospital for her last few hours. Gran hated to be fussed over, and doctors and nurses and the like were an invasion of her private life. Gran loved to cook and a good meal was always found in her home. "Come visit me" were her favourite words. Then out came the food of every description. No one left her home hungry. Maybe the angels and God will enjoy her cooking. Goodbye Gran. We will miss you.
