JEAN FINNIE On April 25, 2001 Jean Finnie passed away in her 96th year, in Chilliwack, BC. She was the youngest of 12 children born to George and Rebecca (Scott) Finnie of Homewood, MB. Predeceased by brothers, William, Andrew, James, George, Walter, infant Edward; and sisters, Elizabeth Bowles, Edna Finnie, Margaret Hughes, and Elsie George. Jean is survived by one sister Grace Barclay of Chilliwack; and by many nieces, nephews and their children. She began her secretarial career at the Manitoba Wheat Pool and then spent many years first at Eatons and finally at Paulin Chambers. Jean was an accomplished seamstress, a sculptor studying under Cecil Richards, and did pottery and beautiful leather work. She enjoyed bowling, curling, gardening and especially golfing. An avid horsewoman, she won awards in show jumping and barrel racing. Two of her favourite horses were "Timtam" and "Boy-O-Boy". Following retirement Jean moved to Chilliwack in August 1971 to be with her sisters. She was a loving and generous person. Funeral service was held Thursday, May 3. Hendersons Funeral Home of Chilliwack was in care of arrangements.
