PHILIP VERNON TAYLOR STAIRS 19 May, 1971 - 02 May, 2001 Philip was taken from his family and friends accidentally near Dryden, Ontario at the age of 29 years. A resident of Beausejour, MB, he was born in Middleton, Nova Scotia, and is survived by his parents Philip H. and Treasure A. Stairs; sister Cheryl A. Jannetta and her fiance Ron Mozel all of Beausejour; grandmother Evelyn Ross; uncles, David V. and Gordon D. Ross, all of Kingston, N.S., uncle Ira R. Taylor, Dartmouth N.S. and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Roberts D. Stairs (1974), grandmother M. Eileen Stairs (1992), great-aunts L. Frances Nicoll (1990), M. Elizabeth Holder (2000), aunt Shirley K. (Stairs) MacKenzie (1990), step-grandfather Charles V. Ross (1997), cousin Michael K. Nicoll (1997) and great grandparents Florence (1976) and Fred (1986) Potter. Philip was a current member of the Beausejour and District Volunteer Fire Department, a past member of the Beausejour and District Ambulance Service, and a current employee of Reimer Express Lines. Over the years, he also worked for CP Rail, Intertec Security and Kisiloski Fertilizer. Whenever possible, he enjoyed sketching with pencil, but recently most of his spare time away from work was spent designing, drawing and planning the construction of his house which was to be started this summer. He also enjoyed tinkering with his car, truck, motorcycle and snowmobile. He was a true and fiercely loyal and faithful friend to those closest to him and loved helping these friends in any was he could. Philip will be remembered as a very generous and devoted son and brother who will be missed far more than words can express. Pallbearers will be Wayne Ewasko, Mark Plaetinck, James Turnbull, Art Burden, Patrick Mazur, and Alex Rowntree. Honourary pallbearers are all of you who pause in memory of Philip or in support of his family. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour, Rev. R. B. Werry officiating. Private interment to follow at a later date.
