Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLLOYD GEORGE DAVIS Of Blumenort, Manitoba, beloved husband of Helen A. Davis, passed away suddenly May 3, 2001 at the St. Boniface General Hospital with his family at his side. Lloyd will be missed and forever cherished by his wife Helen of 50 years; son Alan (Diane), granddaughters, Jennifer and Rachel; daughter Wendy (Grant), granddaughter Christy (Andy) and Sharlene, Cherise and Alexis; and son Robert. He is also survived by brothers David (Ida) and Jim (Irene) sisters Mae (John), Dorothy, and Kathy (Andy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born in Winnipeg, October 21, 1929 and was raised in the East Braintree area on the G.W.W.D. line. He was educated at Teulon Collegiate, attended the University of Winnipeg, Success Commercial Business College and studied the five-year certified public accounting course from which he received his accounting diploma. He worked for various companies as an accountant and then opened his own accounting firm in Winnipeg and Steinbach. Dad became involved publicly as a school trustee in the St. Boniface School Division where he performed as chairman of the board. Most recently he was involved as a founding member of the Reform Party Political Movement and also in the 2000 Canadian Alliance Election Campaign. His other interests included fishing, wildlife, the outdoors, his cats, feeding the birds, but most of all the farm where he spent many enjoyable hours and is right now. Dad loved to spend time with his family, especially moments together at the farm. Dad will be remembered as a quiet, gentle, soft-spoken man who took comfort in the Lord. He believed and lived the motto, it is better to give than to receive. A celebration of Lloyds life will be held Monday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, MB (off Hwy #12 one half block east of Days Inn). A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Birchwood Reception Centre. Donations in Lloyds memory may be made to Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of ones choice. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of the emergency ward of Bethesda Hospital and the Critical Care Unit of St. Boniface Hospital for their care of Dad. May he rest in peace.
