BESSIE KELLY (nee HINDSON) 1913 - 2001 Bessie Kelly passed away peacefully with family at her side on May 5, 2001, at the Grace Hospital. Bessie will be lovingly remembered by sons Tom (Lois) and Brian (Penny) brother-in-law Alan (Alma) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Stewart in 1980. Bessie was born on July 15, 1913, in Golden Stream. Bessie (Betty) spent her early years in the Gladstone area. She married Stewart and moved to Marquette in 1938. Bessie was very active, along with her husband Stewart, on the farm and their other businesses in the early years. She played an active role in community organizations including: Manitoba Federation of Agriculture and Cooperation, Marquette Coop, Marquette Credit Union, Stonewall Hospital Board, Coop Womens Guild, Poplar Heights School, Synod Delegate for St. Lukes, Womens Auxiliary / Anglican Church Women, Church Boys League, Little Helpers, 4H, and others over the years. Always interested in helping others, the community of Poplar Heights was very important to her. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice in Bessies memory would be appreciated. Viewing will be held on Monday, May 7, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and a reception will follow at St. Andrews Parish Hall.
