MAUDE LEAH MCLELLAN (nee PHELPS) Peacefully, at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli, "Maudie" passed away at the age of 87 years. Maudie was born in Winnipeg. In December of 1933 she married her true love, Norman, and had three children. She dedicated countless hours of volunteer service with the Royal Canadian Legions Ladies Auxiliary and was honoured with a lifetime membership. Maude is predeceased by her husband Norman (1965) and brothers, Charlie (1999) and Joe (1943). She will be sadly missed by her daughter Ruthie (Boivin) and sons, Garry McLellan (Carol) and Lorne McLellan (Donna) and their respective families. Also left to fondly remember her are her brothers, Henry (Margaret), Jack (Gwen), Lloyd Gruntman (Deleen) sister-in-law Adair and close friend Ollie Mahood. Maudie also leaves six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews to miss her humour and hugs. A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #182 located at 146-6th Ave. S. in Gimli, MB. Special thanks to the kind staff of Betel Home and Johnson Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion #182 in Gimli to continue the work Maudie believed in. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, in care of arrangements.
