Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON JOSEPH ALDERSON On May 5, 2001, at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Gordon Alderson passed away at the age of 81. He was predeceased by his father and mother, William James and Isabella (nee Steven) Alderson; brother William James Alderson; and his wife Isobel (nee Thompson) Alderson. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Jackie (Gerry) Sneesby, Kerry Alderson (Walter Morris), and Susan (Paul) Nelson; his son James; grandchildren, Kevin (Tracey), and Bryce Sneesby, and De Nelson; and great-grandchildren Lauren and Danielle Sneesby. Gordon attended St. Pauls and Wesley College and the U of M Faculty of Medicine. Between 1939 and 1945, he was a pilot in the RCAF. He was Captain of his own aircraft as well as a flying instructor and navigation instructor, with the rank of Pilot Officer. He received his wings at Sea Island, Vancouver. Gordon married Isobel in Calgary in 1941 and between the years 1945 and 1971 he managed the family business, Good Furnishing Company of Winnipeg. Upon retiring from the family business, he began a new career in the real estate industry. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made in Gordons memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg MB R3C 0S6 or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 200 - 55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and to Dr. Boyd and his associates who attended to our father during his stay there. Dad, you will be sadly missed. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. An interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and a reception for family and friends will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
