CANDAELE (nee DeCRAENE) On May 7, 2001, at the age of 88 years, Evelyn Candaele, of St. Boniface, found peace with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. She will be missed by her son Jules (Jocelyne) daughter-in-law Glennis; grandchildren, Mark, Glen (Diane), Michele (Terry), Lori (Marc), Monique (Bill), Jason (Lisa) great-grandchildren, Christian, Kyle, Melanie, Cameron, Tyler, Manuel, Nicholas, Jared, Scott, Justin, one "soon to be announced" as well as several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Jules and Emma DeCraene; her husband Remi Sr. and son Remi Jr.; brothers, Georges, Camille and Jules. She was employed for several years with the St. Boniface Hospital, but her joy in life was being a devoted homemaker. Evelyn contributed to others, expecting little in return. A member of the Belgian Club and a former member of Belgian Seniors. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Bernadette Parish Church, 820 Cottonwood Dr. with Reverend Fr. Fred Olds presiding. Viewing a half hour prior to service. The service will conclude at the church. Family extends heartfelt thanks to staff of V.O.N. Homecare, Palliative Care Ward, St. Boniface Hospital, Tache Day Centre (Friday), and Tache Nursing Centre, 2nd floor ABC. Special thanks to friends, Joan Hupe, Aline Grouette and Isabel Benoit for their support. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyns memory may be made to the Tache Nursing Centre Building Fund, 185 Despins St. R2H 2B3, or to St. Raphael Centre, 23 Conifer Crescent.
