B. J. (BUD) DOWHANEK B. J. (Bud) Dowhanek, formerly of Vancouver, surrounded with much love and care, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 30, 2001 at the age of 80 at MSA Hospital, Abbotsford, BC. Bud will be sadly missed by his loving family, sisters, Stella and Olga; nephew Barry (Lillian) Catton of Thunder Bay, ON and their children, Kelly, Kimberly, Keith; sister-in-law Olive of Abbotsford; brothers-in-law, Fred (Gert) and Allan (June) of Toronto, ON; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by Valerie, his wife of 50 years and "Chu Chan" his buddy. Bud had a long and distinguished career with Canadian Pacific Telecommunications in Vancouver, BC. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hendersons Fraser Valley Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hendersons at 34537 Marshall Rd., Abbotsford, BC, with Rev. Guy Sinclair officiating. The family wishes to thank Dr. G. J. Stadyck, Dr. S. Min and the nurses and staff at MSA Hospital for their care and support of Bud. With the splendour and abundance that Bud and Vals garden has provided for us, flowers will be appreciatively declined.
