HEINZ KAUFMAN The family of Heinz Kaufman sadly announces his passing on Sunday, May 6, 2001 at Tuxedo Villa at the age of 81 years. Heinz leaves to mourn his passing and to cherish his memory his loving wife, Madeline; his daughter, Noreen (John) his son, Rick (Bev) his grandchildren, Sean (Jacki), Kim, Mel and Erika; as well as his sister, Hilde (Albert) Cory. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and good friends. Heinz was born on February 11, 1920 in Yugoslavia. He came to Canada in August of 1948 and settled in Winnipeg. He met Madeline Miller and the couple were married on July 23, 1949. Heinz worked for Western Glove for most of his career before retiring in 1982 at the age of 62. Heinz will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in his younger years and he especially enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Victoria General Hospital, 4th Floor and the staff of Tuxedo Villa for the special care given to Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart & Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer Society, Manitoba Lung Association or to the C.N.I.B. as tokens of remembrance.
