PAUL N. DEKKER Suddenly, but peacefully, at his home in Burlington, ON, with his beloved wife Mary at his side, on Tuesday, May 8, 2001, age 70 years. Loving father and grandfather who will be fondly remembered by Leslynn Flegel and children, Kellen and Eric of Chatham, ON, Paul-Michael of San Diego, CA, Mary Ellen and Dan Cox and children, Brian, Terri and Kelly Anne of Saskatoon, SK, Bob and children, Erin and Jackson of Moncton, NB and Dave and children, Samantha, Jessica and Nathan and their mother Angie of Winnipeg, MB; brother of Gert Johnson of Spring Lake, MI and Evelyn Cooper of Kent City, MI. Predeceased by brothers, Clarence and Adrian. Paul played football for Michigan State College going on to win the National Championship in 1952. He played professional football for the Washington Redskins (1952) and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1956-1962). Retired Sales Manager for Inter-Provincial Co-operatives and Chipman Inc. Member of the Burlington Curling Club and an avid golfer, fisherman and gardener. Throughout his life Paul was very devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. Visitation at SMITHS FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private service will be held on Saturday, May 12. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to A.L.S. Research Account care of Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, 1200 Main St., West, Room 4U7, Hamilton, ON L8N 3Z5 Attention: Dr. Turnbull would be appreciated.
