SOLVEIG GORDON Peacefully, on May 9, 2001 at the East Gate Lodge, Beausejour, Veiga Gordon passed away at age 101 years. Veiga was born in Iceland and came to Canada in 1904 at 4 years of age. She married Leslie Gordon in 1929 and farmed in Dugald. She will be missed by her nieces Wilma Platt of Winnipeg, Lottie Thompson and Pat Watson of Thunder Bay as well as other family and friends. Veiga was a pleasant soul, kind to those in contact with her. Her life was her home, needlework and loving her animals. Veigas favourite charity was the Winnipeg Humane Society. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at the Shamrock unit for their devoted and compassionate care. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m., at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., with Rev. K. Thompson officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
