Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDMUND B. STREUBER Peacefully on May 10, 2001, at Donwood Manor, with his family by his side, Ed Streuber went home to be with his Lord. He fought with unwaivering faith, courage and patience a lengthy battle with cancer. Ed was predeceased by his parents and his brother Gerhard. Ed was born in Winnipeg on March 18, 1921, to Herman and Frida Streuber. He served in the R.C.A.F. from 1942 to 1946. Upon his return, Ed became a Chartered Accountant and a partner in the firm of Sill Streuber Fiske. He enjoyed his work, his co-workers at the firm, and helping his many loyal clients until illness forced his retirement. Ed was proud of his perfect attendance and involvement with the Winnipeg Rotary Club prior to his illness. Ed committed his life to Christ and was baptized at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church. He willingly served as a youth leader, treasurer and on various committees. He was also active in the work of the North American Baptist Conference, North American Baptist College, NAB Immigration, and Lake Nutimik Baptist Camp. Treasured moments for Ed were spent at the cottage with his family, swimming, boating, puttering around and enjoying Gods creation. His favourite time of the day was the evening, watching the sun set across Eleanor Lake. Ed and his family deeply appreciated the compassionate and excellent care provided to him by his loving wife, the staff at Donwood Manor 2 North, his many homecare workers and especially the longterm support and care of Dr. John Foerster. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 14 at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a memorial fund at Lake Nutimik Baptist Camp, Seven Sisters Falls, MB R0E 1Y0. Arrangements entrusted to Klassen Funeral Chapel, 338-0331.
