I just had a flashback to my elementary school days and looked up Mrs Doe. I was in the same class as Elaine Drysdale and remember Mrs Doe quite clearly, and with affection. As my teacher for grades 4, 5 and 6 she was very instrumental in my development - I just wish I had been a little more mature at the time. - Posted by: Terry MacDonald (Student) on: Oct 02, 2024

Mrs. Doe was one of the most influential people in my life. I was fortunate to have been in her class at Robert H. Smith Elementary for Grades 5 and 6, to June 1965. What an amazing teacher she was, who stimulated her students with enthusiasm, humour, and joy of learning, with the result that an inordinate number of students from that class went on to become leaders and professors in various fields. I still remember so fondly the different students from that class, (even though I moved away after Grade 7), as we shared such wonderful experiences in a pivotal stage in our development. I have often thought of what a tremendous influence she was for all of us. I hope that in her later years, or even as she reviewed her life at the time of her passing, that she became aware of the impact that she had in fostering character development and life-long learning for so many. Thank you Mrs. Doe. Your students loved you very much! Dr. Elaine Drysdale, Vancouver, formerly of Winnipeg - Posted by: Elaine Drysdale (Student of Mrs. Doe) on: Aug 21, 2021
