JAMES ROBERT SLATER Peacefully at his residence, on Friday, May 11, 2001 James (Jim) Slater aged 65 years of Matlock, Manitoba. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Lillian Slater and his brother, Dennis. He is survived by his children, Robin (Tim), Mike (Trish), Mitch, Jodi (Ron), Tim (Michelle) and Shelly; grandchildren, Stephen, Sarah, Rachel, Colin, Cody and Alexander; nephews, Grant (Joan) and Norman; and his sister-in-law Rose. He is also survived by his ex-wives Jackie and Sharon, as well as his faithful companion Duke. Jim loved the lake, buying a cottage in Ponemah, then building a house and moving out to Matlock permanently in 1970. He enjoyed country living and was famous for "touring" around in the early mornings checking out the lake, marshes and wildlife. He commuted to Winnipeg, working as an Electrician for D. Thompson, then State Electric. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the All Saints Anglican Church, Whytewold, MB with Rev. Ken Pawluk officiating. Interment of ashes to take place at a later date. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
