GUY FILLION After his struggle with cancer, Guy Fillion peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family, at the St. Boniface Hospital on Saturday, May 12, 2001 at the age of 45. Having passed on to join his father, Gerard; and father-in-law, Emile; he will be deeply missed by his wife Diane (nee Pelland) and two children, Chantal and Daniel; his mother, Therese (nee Sabourin) and sister Claudette (Roland) Stemmer; and brother Maurice (Vicky) and his sisters-in-law, Lucille (Doug), Michele (Ken), Nicole (Gary) as well as nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Guy grew up in St. Boniface where he was born in 1956. He obtained a degree in Business Administration at R.R.C.C. and was employed at Revenue Canada at the time of his death. Guy enjoyed spending time with his family and doing his favourite activities: golfing, hockey and fishing. Prayers will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (across from the Royal Canadian Mint) on Tuesday, May 15, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd. on Wednesday, May 16, 2001 at 10:30 a.m., Innichement Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Lawn Reception Centre. His family wishes to thank all of Guys many friends and relatives for their love, support and prayers during this difficult time. Grateful thanks go to Sister Cathy Laviolette, Dr. Maksymiuk, the staff on 5B and of CancerCare Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations in Guys memory may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, 100 Olivia St., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
